CM-10-V1824 Optical Access Switch - Download PDF

Corrigent's CM-10-V1824 is a feature-rich Layer 2 Carrier Ethernet Transport access switch providing an intelligent and managed metro-access layer that enables the provisioning of content-rich services over reserved bandwidth. The CM-10-V1824 provides access to carrier-grade residential and business services, offering SLA assurance, performance monitoring and advanced OAM capabilities.

The metro access layer comprises the largest segment of the Metro Ethernet Network, requiring the configuration and operation of large amounts of network elements. Corrigent's CM-10-V1824 is fully managed using the CM-View NMS platform as part of Corrigent's CM product line, offering true point-and-click provisioning from the Metro Access up to the Metro Edge and Core, avoiding the need to perform complex error-prone configurations, and achieving fast time to revenue.

The CM-10-V1824 is a cost-effective single-board (“pizza box”) Fast Ethernet switch equipped with 24 optical Fast Ethernet interfaces as tributary ports and 2 GE or FE interfaces as the uplink interface. It can be ideally located in multi-tenant building or at the Service Provider’s POP or CO serving as first aggregation switch.

The CM-10-V1824 uplink interfaces allow maximum topology flexibility by being used as linear dual homed uplink or create an aggregation ring towards Corrigent's CM-4000 Metro Edge/Core Carrier Ethernet Transport switches.

Services and Applications

Corrigent CM-10-V1824 Carrier Ethernet Transport access switch is an optimal solution for the access layer of next generation networks. With a rich set of security features and advanced management capabilities, it can be safely located on customer premises in FTTH applications, collecting traffic from multiple residential and business customers in dual homed or protected ring topologies as well as cascaded access links.

With Provider Bridge Ethernet capabilities and advanced QoS mechanisms, CM-10-V1824 switch offers complete set of MEF certified Ethernet services including E-LINE and E-LAN services. Its superior L3 aware classification tools enables the operator to offer fully flexible and managed services to their business customers, and high quality of experience to residential customers.
