CM-100 PTS Product Line
The CM-100 Packet Transport System (PTS) is a carrier-class, packet-optimized, optical transport solution designed to efficiently carry data and TDM services over a single converged transport infrastructure. Its unique design relies on Resilient Packet Ring (RPR) and Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), and provides the most bandwidth-efficient transport solution available in the market.
The CM-100 PTS product line includes the CM-110, CM-106 and CM-104 models, all of which offer the same packet transport functionality and vary only in size and number of user interface slots available in the chassis. The CM-110 and CM-106 are 14RU in size and include ten and six user slots respectively. The CM-104 is 6RU in size and includes four horizontal, front-accessibly user slots. All models offer both 10 Gbits/s and 2.5 Gbits/s RPR over SONET/SDH network interfaces, plus a complete suite of Ethernet, TDM and POS interface modules, with rates varying from fast Ethernet to 10 gigabit Ethernet, and from DS1/E1 to OC-48/STM-16.
The CM-110 and CM-106 were designed to provide efficient 10Gbits/s metro transport and aggregation, providing high interface density and switching capacity. The CM-104, on the other hand, is the only 10Gbits/s compact packet transport system available in the market. It offers high switching capacity and, in combination with the CM-21, provides the most cost effective solution for service providers looking to offer end-to-end TDM and Ethernet services to residential and business customers over a packet-efficient transport infrastructure.

Benefits
It combines all the advantages of conventional transport equipment, such as high availability, reliability and manageability, with the flexibility and scalability normally associated with state-of-the-art Ethernet equipment. Hence, the CM-100 PTS represents the "best of both worlds", providing also the added benefit of guaranteeing strict, deterministic performance with QoS guarantees, sophisticated traffic management and network-wide connection admission control (CAC).
Among others, the CM-100 PTS offers the following benefits:
- High service availability and scalability though standard RPR, interface protection and a fully redundant system architecture designed with no single point of failure
- Wide range of Ethernet, PDH and SONET/SDH interface modules, with rates varying from E1/DS1 to OC-48/STM-16, and from 10/100 BaseT, 1000BaseX to 10G Ethernet (LAN PHY).
- An integrated high capacity RPR system, enabling a loss-less shared media for the aggregation of data services, providing statistical multiplexing and spatial reuse, yielding optimal bandwidth utilization
- Fine-granularity service classification and traffic management, ensuring service performance consistent with SLA
- Open management system with high availability options
- Standard Layer 2 aggregation for Ethernet, PON, DSL, 3G and Broadband Wireless technologies.
