CM-21 PTS Product Line
The CM-21 Packet Transport Switch (PTS) is a compact, high-density, gigabit Ethernet aggregation and distribution switch. It was specifically designed to provide the access component in Corrigent's end-to-end packet transport solution.
Fully interoperable with the CM-100 product line, the CM-21 PTS includes the CM-21G, CM-21F, CM-21X and CM-21T models, all of which provide 24 Gbits/s non-blocking Ethernet switching capacity. Its size, non-blocking switching capacity and high-density port interface, makes the CM-21 an optimal aggregation solution for residential and business customer applications, such as triple play and L2 VPN.
- The CM-21G supports twenty four gigabit Ethernet plug-in (SFP) ports and four 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet ports. It provides an interoperable, standards-compliant Ethernet aggregation solution for residential and business applications
- The CM-21F supports twenty four fast Ethernet plug-in (SFP) or fixed multi-mode ports, as well as two 10/100/1000BaseT and two gigabit Ethernet plug-in mini-GBIC (SFP) ports. The port flexibility available in the CM-21F makes it an ideal solution for applications such as active Ethernet FTTH or access aggregation.
- The CM-21X offers a very high-density solution, supporting two gigabit Ethernet ports, two gigabit Ethernet plug-in (SFP) ports, and 24 or 48 auto-sensing 10/100BaseTX ports. It offers similar flexibility as the CM-21F with the added value of being able to accommodate up to 48 fast Ethernet ports.
- The CM-21T offers the option of twenty four 10/100/1000BaseX ports and four gigabit Ethernet plug-in (SFP) ports. It presents an alternative to the CM-21G when a combination of FE and GE ports are required.

The CM-21 provides standard electrical and optical Ethernet interfaces to connect to residential and business customers, and can be connected to the CM-100 in multiple configurations including linear, tree or ring topologies. Specifically, when connected in a ring configuration, the CM-100 can function as a hub node part of a CM-21 gigabit Ethernet ring. The CM-100 product line has been certified by the Metro Ethernet Forum as "Carrier Ethernet". This distinction guarantees that the CM-100 PTS can deliver carrier-class Ethernet services, and is capable of interoperating at this level with other Ethernet equipment such as the CM-21.
