CM-4000 PTS Product Line

The CM-4000 PTS is a carrier-class, packet- transport solution designed to efficiently deliver packet and TDM services over a single, converged transport infrastructure. Its unique design combines standard MPLS/T-MPLS with Ethernet, RPR and SONET/SDH technologies to enable a universal transport solution, capable of cost-efficiently delivering any traffic mix, from 100% circuit-based TDM to 100% packet-based IP/Ethernet.

Corrigent’s CM-4000 product line includes the CM-4206 and CM-4314, which provide fully nonblocking switching capacity of 160Gbps and 320Gbps respectively, scalable to 640Gbps. It provides in-service scalability of network-side links of up to 100 Gbps through advanced link bonding technologies. It can be deployed in any configuration including ring, mesh and tree topologies, over one or multiple 1 to 10 Gbps wavelengths.

Corrigent’s CM-4000 PTS offers a transport solution that complies with all SONET/SDH standards as defined by Telcordia and ITU-T specifications. Its innovative design allows network service providers to integrate the CM-4000 into any existing SONET/SDH network base. The CM-4000 also provides interworking functions that allow carriers to migrate their existing customer base to the Ethernet-centric packet transport network. A packet-optimized optical transport solution

Services and Applications

Corrigent’s CM-4000 PTS was designed to efficiently deliver a combination of TDM and advanced packet services over a single, converged transport infrastructure. It offers a unique application- and service-aware traffic management scheme, which guarantees end-toend performance during congestion, and enables dynamic bandwidth reclamation and optimal bandwidth utilization at all times for the delivery of the following packet and TDM services:

  • Point to point, point to multipoint and multipoint Ethernet, including E-Line, E-Tree and E-LAN services
  • Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) and Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS)
  • PoS to Ethernet Interworking
  • EoS termination and Ethernet Interworking
  • The full range of TDM Privaet Line services
  • Non-blocking SONET/SDH loworder and high-order cross connect

These services enable the delivery of end-user applications such as Triple Play (VoIP, Video, DIA), Business Ethernet, 3G/4G wireless backhaul and on-demand content distribution. They also facilitate the migration towards all-IP by providing viable path to convergence through the introduction of SONET-to- Ethernet Interworking.
